Alessi & Stefano Giovannoni have done it again!
After the astounding success of the Chin family, Alessi has begun a new chapter in its collaboration with the National Palace Museum of Taiwan.
Stefano Giovannoni set out to explore the minimal tradition of Chinese applied arts and develop his contemporary interpretation of them. "In a world made flat by the Internet, and new commercial ventures made possible by globalisation, have given birth to cultural cross-overs and opened new horizons. Western culture needs to be refreshed after the end of minimalism. We crave new cultural cross-overs and need to reconsider our relationship with the past, to rediscover decoration as an element of communication."
The result was the creation of the "OrienTales." A collection of beautifully modern, yet unmistakably kitsch collection of kitchen wears. A truly contemporary design for contemporary living!
